The Feminine Is Not Designed to Be Consistent — And That’s Your Power

Have you ever tried to stay consistent with your work…

your routines…

your habits…

Only to find that one day everything flows effortlessly, and the next, even the simplest task feels almost impossible?

Some days you feel focused, clear, and completely on top of the world.

You want to create.

You want to be seen.

You have inspired ideas and the energy to move forward.

And then there are other days when something in you wants to turn inward.

You crave less noise.

Less stimulation.

And long for more space.

Maybe you feel more sensitive, reflective or emotional.

Maybe your creativity feels quieter.

Maybe what felt so easy yesterday suddenly requires enormous effort.

And instead of listening to what your body and energy are trying to tell you, you've found yourself feeling frustrated, wondering:

Why can I do this so easily sometimes, but struggle so much at other times?

Why can't I just be consistent?!

And perhaps, at some point, you made it mean something about you.

That you're not disciplined enough.

Not focused enough.

Not productive enough.

That you simply need to try harder.

But what if your changing energy isn't a problem to be solved?

What if it is your innate feminine energy, guiding you home to your true design?

You Don't Have a Consistency Problem

We live in a culture that places enormous value on consistency and we are often celebrated for how productive we are.

We are rewarded for being visible.

For achieving.

For putting ourselves out there.

For showing up every day.

For being disciplined.

And there are times when this genuinely feels right.

Sometimes we have momentum and a strong inner drive to bring something into the world.

There is a place for discipline and consistency. These are qualities often associated with the masculine, and as women, we need access to our masculine energy to help us follow through on what matters to us.

But there is a difference between healthy discipline and forcing yourself to push through in the same way every day. And I think many women are confusing the two.

What we often forget is that, beneath all of this, we are feminine beings — and the feminine within us moves according to a very different rhythm than the masculine.

So often we’ve learned to override our body’s intelligence.

To push through resistance without asking what’s actually underneath it.

To keep producing even when our inner world is asking us to slow down.

We are working against our feminine essence, and it’s one of the reasons so many women are burning themselves out.

You Are a Cyclical Being: The Rhythm of Feminine Energy

The truth is that our feminine essence is not the same every day.

Our feminine essence is deeply cyclical.

It carries the energy of yin.

Yin is inward.

Receptive.

Fluid.

Intuitive.

Restorative.

Responsive.

It doesn't move in a straight line.

It moves like the seasons.

Look at nature.

We don't expect a tree to blossom all year.

We don't look at winter and accuse it of being unproductive.

We understand that for summer to arrive, nature needs its seasons of restoration and rest.

Nature shows us that there are times for growth.

For expansion.

For flowering.

For release.

And then the cycle begins again.

As women, we are part of this same cyclical energy.

Yet we've created lives that often demand that we function as though we are permanently in summer.

And this is where so much of our exhaustion begins.

We have forgotten how to honour and listen to our inner ebbs and flows.

This rhythm can be reflected in the menstrual cycle, but it is even bigger than that. A woman can still feel it even when she is no longer menstruating. Because this cyclical energy is not only held in a woman's biology — it is woven into the very nature of the feminine.

It can be felt in your creativity.

In your emotional life.

In your relationships.

In your sexuality.

In your work.

In the way you experience your own energy and capacity.

There will be times when you naturally want to expand, express, create and be seen.

And there will be times when something in you wants to gather itself back in.

This is not inconsistency.

It is feminine rhythm.

When Doing Becomes Easier Than Being

When we're used to constantly being “on”, it can start to feel difficult to slow down.

To listen.

To receive.

To allow.

To let something unfold organically instead of always trying to make it happen.

When you've become very good at doing, slowing down can feel almost irresponsible.

Rest can feel like being lazy.

Receiving without feeling like you have to earn it can feel uncomfortable.

But what if slowing down is a part of the creation process?

What if the space between the vision and its manifestation is not empty?

What if there is magic and power moving through that space — in the beingness, in the stillness, in the allowing?

The Medicine of Slowing Down

There is a particular kind of medicine available to us when we slow down.

When we rest in stillness.

In the space where nothing needs to happen.

This space is not laziness.

It is soul nourishment for the feminine.

It is where we restore.

Where we reconnect with our wholeness.

Where we begin to hear our intuition again.

Where something inside of us gets to mature, deepen and become fertile.

Imagine a seed.

There is a great deal happening before anything becomes visible.

The growth is not always outward.

Sometimes the deepest work is happening beneath the surface.

And the feminine knows this language very well.

She knows how to gestate.

How to incubate.

How to allow something to ripen slowly, in its own time.

This is the essence of yin.

And when we are constantly producing, constantly doing and constantly projecting ourselves outward, we can lose our connection to it.

That’s when our inner waters can become stagnant and depleted.

And we forget what it feels like to let our inner waters simply flow.

Your Feminine Power Is Not Found in Constant Doing

Taking time to restore our yin is especially important for ambitious women with big visions.

Women who are here on this earth to offer meaningful work.

Build something of their own.

Contribute to a greater world and make an impact.

There is nothing inherently unfeminine about having a strong sense of ambition, drive and a desire to be productive.

But the question is:

Can you be productive without abandoning yourself in the process?

Can you move outward without losing your connection to your inner world?

Can you build without constantly overriding your body's signals?

Because since we are cyclical beings, we cannot endlessly pour out without also creating space to be replenished.

We need periods of stillness where our own inner resources can begin to restore themselves.

An inward movement to balance our outward movement.

The feminine is not asking you to stop being productive.

She is asking you to become more deeply attuned to your own inner rhythm.

To listen.

To know when it is time to move.

And when it is time to pause.

This is not about doing less for the sake of doing less.

It is about living in relationship with your own feminine design instead of constantly overriding it.

And when you stop fighting your own rhythm, you create space for something deeper to emerge.

If You're Ready to Go Deeper

Knowing this intellectually and actually living it are two very different things.

That’s why my dear sister Malin and I have created the Feminine Essence Retreat, taking place 19–22 of November at Hurdal Gjestegård in Norway.

We want to welcome you, beautiful woman, into four days of stepping away from the external world and into a slower, more feminine rhythm.

A space to come back to yourself.

Disconnect from the digital world.

Spend time in nature.

Rest.

Be nourished by healthy, homemade food.

Relax in the sauna.

Be in stillness.

Gather in ceremony and sisterhood.

Reconnect with your body.

Your pleasure.

Your aliveness.

Your yin.

And to remember what becomes available when you allow yourself to simply be.

If you feel the call, we'd love to have you with us. 🤍
